Michael Smith, OWNER

I have 31 years of experience in church interior design, renovation and restoration. I began my career working for The Studios of Potente in 1992. Eventually, I became an independent sub-contractor for the studio. In 1999, I opened my own company, Smith Renovations, LLC, in Janesville, Wisconsin. The majority of my projects were in the mid-west. But I also worked from coast to coast and as far south as Dallas, Texas.

My job experience includes building scaffolding, plaster repair, painting, decorating, managing projects and, of course, interior design. Several churches required custom built baptismal fonts, tabernacles and furniture as well as refinishing statues and murals. I've managed as many as 15 people on larger projects along with various sub-contractors. My experience is extensive having completed approximately 50 major projects and over 100 smaller ones,

I closed Smith Renovations, LLC in August of 2022 and semi-retired in Washington State. To continue with my passion for church interior design, I formed Smith Church Interior Design Services in September 2022.
